Strength Training for Fat Loss
The body is an awesome and very confusing machine at times. I am sure i am safe to say that we have all felt like this at times. However, one thing is for certain just because you lose weight does not necessarily mean you are skinny or do not still have a high body fat percentage sticking around.
The body wants to burn fat as inefficiently as possible to help keep you active, moving, and ALIVE!!! let that sink in for a second. The body wants to burn through your fat stores and move onto what is next to keep you functioning.
One of the most popular ways people tackle the problem of losing weight is by restricting calories and then doing a lot of cardio until the weight comes off. In theory, if you lose more weight than you should lose body fat which is true but, there is another big component to this people tend to over look. which is, utilizing resistance training to help aid in weight and fat loss.
The body needs to be put under pressure and build muscle. How do we do this? Through resistance training. adding external weight to movements that will affect a certain group of muscles or all the muscles.
The more lean muscle a person can acquire the more their metabolic rates will rise which is their metabolism. Then, in turn they will burn more calories and their body fat percentage will decrease. Therefore, by adding a resistance training program to your current work out routine will not only help you in your weight loss journey but help you decrease unwanted body fat as well.
